Outstanding leadership for Kansas City
Every child in Kansas City deserves a quality education. The success and stability of Kansas City Public Schools is crucial. Through my business, legal and community experience, I've learned that listening first is the key to addressing complex challenges. Providing a strong board leadership base is essential to empower professional educators to innovate and create partnerships across traditional divides. I will provide such board leadership to sustain KCPS on a positive trajectory.
Over the past three decades, I have demonstrated my commitment to the Kansas City community though extensive engagement in the private and non-profit sectors. My passion for education, social justice and health care access is evidenced by service in past and current board leadership with Truman Medical Centers, KC CARE Health Center, Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy, Notre Dame de Sion, the Pembroke Hill School, and the Midwest Innocence Project, among many others. I currently serve as executive director of the Menorah Heritage Foundation. My leadership is recognized across the community, including by WIN for KC (Coach of the Year), KC Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business, Ingram’s Magazine 40 under 40, and Congregation Beth Shalom, where I regularly teach bar and bat mitzvah students and lead high holiday services.
